In the third quarter of 2022, the top five social networking apps on the iOS platform in Spain showcased diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides a comprehensive view of the app performance in this category.

BeReal: Photos & Friends Daily saw significant growth in weekly downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 7.8K and peaking at around 124K in early September. The app's weekly active users also showed a robust increase, from 163K at the beginning of the quarter to over 627K by the end. Despite the impressive growth in both downloads and active users, the app did not generate any revenue during this period.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a steady download rate, fluctuating between 25K and 46K weekly downloads. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations around the 5M mark throughout the quarter. Similar to BeReal, WhatsApp did not report any revenue during this period.

Telegram Messenger experienced moderate growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads varied between 25K and 47K, with active users increasing from 1M to around 1.1M by the end of the quarter. Revenue showed a gradual upward trend, peaking at approximately $1.5K in mid-September.

Facebook demonstrated consistent performance in downloads, ranging from 14K to 21K weekly downloads. The app's weekly active users slightly decreased over the quarter, from 6.1M to 5.9M. Facebook's revenue fluctuated, peaking at about $3.1K at the end of June and seeing a low of $1.6K in mid-August.

Messenger showed a decline in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads dropped from 15K to around 12K, and active users decreased from approximately 2.1M to 2M over the quarter. Like WhatsApp, Messenger did not report any revenue during this period.
